Matchplay Competition Rules
1. Applicability
These regulations apply to all Golf Impact matches and competitions organized matchplay format , unless otherwise indicated. By participating in a competition, players agree to these regulations.
2. Game format
• All matches are played according to the match play format, as described in Rule 3 of the Rules of Golf (R&A/USGA).
• Each hole is a separate battle; the player who wins a hole is "1 up," etc.
• The match ends as soon as a player is ahead by more holes than there are left to play.
3. Rules applicable
• The matches are played according to the official Rules of Golf (R&A/USGA), including all updates.
• In addition, the provisions in these regulations and any local rules apply.
• In cases not covered by these regulations, the Golf Impact Tournament Management.
4. Arrange and play on time
• Both players are responsible for jointly finding a suitable golf course on the specified date and time (as indicated on the website or via email). Please take each other's preferences into account; it should remain fun.
• If players do not make an appointment, the match may be marked as not played or cancelled .
• In case of unforeseen circumstances (such as prolonged illness or injury), the competition management will decide on an alternative date.
5. Submitting results
• The winner of the match is responsible for submitting the result via the official results form.
• The result must 24 hours after playing be submitted
• After the result has been communicated, the opposing party must 24 hours of submission approve or reject the result
• If both players fail to confirm the result in a timely manner, the match shall be invalid , unless otherwise determined by the match officials.
6. Conflicts & disagreements about results
• In case of disagreement regarding the result, players must within 24 hours report this to the match officials
• The tournament committee will hear both players and make a decision in accordance with Rule 20.2 of the Rules of Golf.
• If the facts cannot be sufficiently established, the match officials may decide to: the match as a draw record, annul the resultormake another appropriate decision based on reasonableness and fairness.
• Intentionally misleading behavior may lead to exclusion from the competition.
7. Absence or non-appearance
• If a player fails to appear at the agreed time and place without a valid reason, the match will be awarded to the opponent.
• In case of repeated failure to perform, the player may be removed from the competition.
8. Local rules & track conditions
• Players must adhere to the applicable local rules of the golf course on which they are playing.
• If there is any doubt about the application of a local rule, the matter should be discussed and reported to the match management afterwards.
• Poor weather conditions may lead to the postponement or modification of the match, exclusively after consultation with the match officials.
9. Fair play & sportsmanship
• Sportsmanship is central to Golf Impact. Unsportsmanlike conduct, intimidation, or cheating will not be tolerated.
• Upon detection of unsportsmanlike conduct, a warning or sanction will follow. Repetition may lead to exclusion from (further) participation.
10. Other provisions
• In case of technical errors or errors in the playing schedule, the match management will decide based on the situation.
• The competition management reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants in a timely manner.
